toddler cousin photos

Having a toddler of our own is one thing. But the thought of having two at one time is slightly overwhelming. We photographed these toddler cousins, Lexus (left) and Josie (right) over the holidays and they were a bundle of energy! I felt like I needed a third arm — one to watch each of them and one to hold my camera. They were super-cute and lots of fun though!

Josie (left) and Lexus (right) love each other’s company so much and are like two peas in a pod.

The girls love chapstick!

Lexus has a new little brother, 2-week-old Michael. He’s growing on her.

Josie loves her mom so much — and the feeling is obviously mutual!

This weekend I got to photograph baby Hannah! When I arrived she was still napping; so beautiful!

She was a little uncertain about what was going on when she first woke up.

But she checked things out and was her normal, happy-self in no time.

Seriously, she’s one of the happiest babies ever!

No doubt she knows she’s incredibly loved from her Mom and Dad!

These next few are probably two of my favorite kid photos of the year! Thanks to Hannah’s parents for trusting me when I asked if I could put their daughter middle of the coffee table!

Hannah was not impressed at first when we bundled her up to get a few shots outside.

But she came around!

While we were honored when our friends Renee & Jonathan of McCardell Photography asked us to photograph a family session of them with their son, Nathan, we were also nervous to photograph other photographers! Everyone works differently and the final product is always unique to that specific photographer’s style. The McCardell’s however, made it super-easy on us though because their family is so much fun! Nathan is such a happy little man and there’s no denying they love each other more than words!

This is such a fun age for photographs. They’re slightly mobile and want to explore everything, but can’t run away from you yet!

Biiiiig yawn! It’s hard being the center of attention!

Renee is such a beautiful mother.

Being that Higs and/or I typically have a camera in hand chasing after Nolan, it’s not often that we ever have photos of the three of us together in one shot, except for self-takes. And while we love the self-takes, they can’t fully document the way we are as a family. So we turned to the super-talented Kellie Kano to document us at this point in our life.

We’ve loved Kellie’s work for years and knew that we’d be happy with whatever images she provided us. But we were ecstatic with the outcome because our normally happy go-lucky Nolan was a completely uncooperative toddler that evening and she still managed to capture his personality perfectly. nolan and the pumpkin patch

One of the things I love most about Fall is the traditions that are involved with all the upcoming holidays. Last year we picked pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch and we made a tradition of it this year by going back. On the way home I was comparing last year to this year and I can’t get over how much things have changed. I will say, he sure was much easier to photograph last year; the kid didn’t even have a pair of shoes because he wasn’t mobile yet. Now our baby is a little boy, but still cute as ever! He tried to pick up, roll and/or sit on just about every pumpkin in the patch before picking his favorite.
