After Danielle & Jon were married at The Proximity in Greensboro, we stole them away for a Just Married session on the hotel grounds. I love Just Married sessions. So much of it is about the interaction between the couple, and with these two, they wouldn’t have been able to hide their happiness if they tried! Combine that with two types of super-fabulous light and voila! A beautiful Just Married session!

Brenda McLamb from The Proximity Hotel provided beautiful centerpieces for the reception.

Their three-tiered wedding cake with brown ribbon and orchids was a beautiful creation of Maxie B’s in Greensboro.

Daneille & Jon paid a huge amount of attention to the details of their reception. One of my favorite things was their “Northern Love meets Southern Love” dessert table, which really added a personal touch about the couple. Danielle comes from a very Italian family in New Jersey and Jon’s a good ol’ Southern boy. Representing Danielle’s heritage & the North: Italian Cream Cupcakes, Canoli, Tiramisu, Eclairs, Big Apple cupcakes, and mini-New York Cheesecakes. And to represent Jon & the South: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, mini-Pecan Pies, Moravian Sugar Cookies, Key Lime Cupcakes, Red Velvet Cupcakes and Lemon Bars. It took everything in me not to drool on the desserts as I photographed them.

This wishing tree allowed guests to write a personalized message and wish to the couple.

Their religion is an incredibly important part of their lives, love and marriage, so we wanted to acknowledge that for Danielle & Jon. I love that we were able to use the personalized Bible that Jon gave to his bride on their wedding day to do so.

When we first met with Danielle & Jon, they weren’t sure where they were going to get married. Throughout their planning process, they chose to have their wedding at The Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, which is an incredible venue! It’s modern with a ton of texture and offers a lot variety when it comes to photos. We’ve shot there a few times and each time I find something new and fun to incorporate into our photos, such as this elevator sign.

Jenny (Make-up Art by Jenny) did an amazing job on the make-up. It was absolutely flawless and really flattered everything about Danielle’s wedding day style.

Danielle added a faith, hope and life charm to her bouquet.

The ring bearer carried a pillow made out of mums.

I love the anticipation and excitement that getting ready brings.

She’s so beautiful; classic & flawless!

I love the expression on Danielle’s dad’s face when he saw her for the first time! Such a mixture of pride, excitement and happiness.

Meanwhile, Higs hung out with Jon and the guys at The Marriott in downtown Greensboro as they relaxed and got ready.

Everytime I do boudoir photography, I just love it even more! I know I’ve said it before, but it’s so much fun to make a girl feel beautiful and sexy in her most-natural state. There’s something naturally gorgeous about the simplicity of soft romantic curls and white bed sheets. This particular boudoir session is quickly becoming one of my favorites because it reminds me of a photoshoot in Vanity Fair or Elle Magazine. Love it!

This black ribbon and pearl necklace paired up perfectly with the black lace panties. I love the image on the left!

This one below is definitely a favorite because of the candidness of her expression.

Sillouetting in the natural light is just beautiful.

While a black bra and panty set is very attractive, I think the white tanktop and purple boy shorts are just as sexy in a completely different way. Love it!
